Datsun has launched the redi-GO in the country at an introductory price of Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The entry-level small car is available in 5 variants – D, A T, (O) and S, with the top-of-the-line variant priced at Rs 3.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) making it the most affordable in the segment. The stylish hatchback is based on the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Kwid and even uses the same engine – an 800cc petrol motor that develops 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox though an automatic (AMT) version is expected to launch in future. Claimed mileage is rated at 25.17kmpl, again, same as the Kwid. The redi-GO is available in five paint shades and you also get 50 optional accessories to personalise the car as per your style. Bookings for the redi-GO have already commenced and if you are considering buying either a Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon or the Kwid, then the redi-GO may interest you.
